The pothole that interrupted this year's Monaco Grand Prix showed that even the most famous racing circuits are not immune to road defects. A few centimeters of asphalt damage was enough to cause two drivers crashing and the race being interrupted for almost 40 minutes. The incident once again showed how important timely and high-quality road maintenance is – not only on race tracks, but also on ordinary roads, where it affects safety, traffic flow and the costs of subsequent repairs.

In his new comment, our CCO Ondřej Rušikvas reflects on this incident. He explains why preventive asphalt care is much more effective than solving extensive defects, and shares his experience with using FUTTEC microwave technology in road repairs on Rohanské nábřeží in Prague before the exhibition show of monoposts and motorcycles in 2024, as well as on other busy Czech roads where a perfectly smooth road surface is needed.
